Outgoing Azerbaijani envoy, commerce minister reaffirm economic ties

ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, called on Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation.

The minister praised the ambassador’s role in strengthening Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, highlighting milestones including the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), the 8th Pakistan-Azerbaijan Joint Commission meeting and the signing of 15 agreements and MoUs covering trade, investment, IT, tourism and other sectors.

Farhadov urged Pakistan to facilitate visits by Azerbaijani investors and business delegations to Special Economic Zones and export industries to showcase investment opportunities.

Both sides also stressed the importance of improving regional connectivity and expressed optimism that enhanced transport links would further boost trade and economic integration between the two countries.
