Petroleum Dealers withdraw strike after talks with government

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association withdrew its strike decision within just six hours. Haji Ameer Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (Sindh), told The Karachi Post that the decision was withdrawn without any external pressure; they are granting a 15-day grace period based on government assurances.

He said that representatives from both the owners’ and dealers’ associations held negotiations with the government in Islamabad. It was agreed that the issues regarding dealer margins and the daily determination of prices would be resolved within 15 days.

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association had earlier announced a nationwide strike in a press conference, scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM the following day.
