Japanese Ambassador visits KPT to strengthen maritime cooperation

Karachi: Shuichi Akamatsu, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, accompanied by First Secretary Mr Yuki Ishimatsu, visited Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Head Office and called on Chairman KPT, Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI (M), (Retd).

The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan–Japan maritime cooperation, enhancing bilateral trade, and exploring Japanese investment in port modernization and logistics.

Chairman KPT briefed the delegation on Karachi Port’s transformation and strategic role as a regional maritime and transshipment hub, while both sides discussed avenues for future collaboration and technology exchange.
