Dhaka seeks closer business ties with Pakistan

Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, Muhammad Sakib Sadakat, has urged Pakistan and Bangladesh to strengthen bilateral trade and deepen economic cooperation by encouraging greater B2B engagement, saying both countries possess significant untapped commercial potential that can be unlocked through closer collaboration and increased exchange of trade delegations.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the S.I.T.E. Association of Industry (SAI), led by President Abdul Rehman Fudda, the deputy high commissioner invited Pakistani industrialists to visit Bangladesh to explore investment and trade opportunities, assuring them of the High Commission’s full support in facilitating business contacts and market access.

The industrialists highlighted the need to increase the frequency of direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh and expand sea cargo services, saying improved logistics would help reduce trade costs and significantly boost bilateral commerce.

Deputy High Commissioner emphasised that sustained engagement between the private sectors of both countries, coupled with stronger institutional cooperation, would help unlock the full potential of bilateral trade and investment.
